We design and develop a point of care sensor for monitoring and quantifying the blood-based metabolites. This sensor platform has the potential to be used as a routine monitoring tool to differentiate between sick and healthy animals. By enabling the quantification of metabolites directly from whole blood, the sensor would bring down the time to results through overcoming the specificity and sensitivity barriers. The sensor module will be developed to adapt for transcutaneous insertion into the animal’s tissue, for minimally invasive application of accessing the blood, under the skin.
